So it is Monday, again. It is crazy how this day keeps coming back. This weekend was a fabulous weekend. It was my first weekend off in months. It was the first weekend of my new life.
I spent Friday night with great friends, popcorn, and an outdoor movie..Hitchcock's Sabotage. I have never seen a Hitchcock film all the way through so it was a great time. The movie was put on by the Clinton Arts Council (that I am know president-elect of!!) We had about 50 film watchers and a few bugs, it was a great start to the weekend!
Saturday was a busy busy day!! Madyson celebrated turning 3 a weekend early. We had her first "friends" party. Her best friends Gavin, Caitlyn, Kinsley Grace, and Miss Amy came to sno-biz in Clinton along with her cousins Emma, Ellie, Toby and Zach for all-you-can eat sno-cones, cheetos, and cupcakes (menu designed by the party princess herself). She received really nice gifts (alot of Disney stuff!) and came home exhausted.
She played with her toys and then we went to Old Navy to get some shorts and stuff for Disney! When we got home it was burning up outside so we turned on the sprinkler and played until we were cooled off!
Sunday started out perfect! We went to church and Todd and I taught the 9am, 2 year old Sunday School Class. We went to service at 10:30 and took my niece, Emma. During service, we had the Lord's Supper. This was Emma's first Lord's Supper since becoming a Christian a few months ago! It was such a special time to spend with her!
After church we went swimming at MeMe & Jim's then we came home and watched movies!
Now the countdown is on...6 days until Disney! TONS TO DO!! This is my last week at the zoo "full time" and it is a bittersweet time.
Tomorrow I will post pictures of Madyson's party and we will discuss my new adventure!
Until then....
Oh wait! I forgot to tell you how false teeth fit into this post! My grandma is staying with us tonight while her house is being repainted. I am use to picking up bowls of ice cream that Madyson leaves on the table each night, so tonight I come into the den from the bathroom and reach down to pick up what I thought was Madyson's ice cream bowl, only to find out it holds my grandmas false teeth! Now if you know me really well, you would know I have a terrible gag reflex. Needless to say this took over my throat and luckily, my mom was there to get the bowl before Ms. Field's Pimento cheese ended up everywhere!!

a really long week
So if you notice I haven't been writing this week. Awkward I know. It wasn't because interesting things did not happen....TONS of interesting things did. It was because I have been thinking of how to say them all in 1 entry!
Monday: Started off rough. When you work a Sunday, you feel like Monday is Tuesday. I came to work in my new dress because I had a speaking engagment that afternoon. I went to the cafe to grab a drink and when I returned I had a missed call. The call was from my church, something I had been praying for. It was what I needed to hear that day. I was floating on cloud nine and had to spend the rest of the day working through a ton of emotions.
Tuesday: On Tuesday, I was off to take Madyson to the eye doctor. She got glasses and looks so cute!
Wednesday: Wednesday was a very hard, very LONG day. I had to announce to my staff & friends that I would be leaving my current job to be able to spend more time with my family. You all know how much I love my job and how much stress I have been under the past few months. Together, we have been praying for something to arise that would allow me more time with the family and not be a complete financial strain. That something finally came and now it was time for me to leave a place that I have called home for over a year. It felt like breaking up with my best friends. The statements I received from fellow co-workers really tugged at my heart, but I know, this is the best decision for me and most importantly for my family.
Thursday: This day flew by! By the time I got home I still had energy to work on Disney packing (9 more days!!) and cook a delcious dinner!
Today is Friday...FINALLY! I have alot of work to do at the office but even more when I get home. Tomorrow is Madyson's birthday party and i have to go grocery shopping and bake cupcakes, PLUS I have Flicks on the Bricks tonight for Arts Council! Then tomorrow is Madyson's sno-cone party and Courtney's wedding shower. Then Sunday is church & sunday school, as well as, packing for Disney day.
Next week is a 4 day week! Friday will be hectic getting everything ready for the trip! Saturday is the 4th of July and then Midnight hits and WE LEAVE!!!
I am so excited and I love Todd so much! He has put up with my pixie dust and princess dress dream for 4 years and now, it is about to come true!!!

Happy Hump Day!!
Today was a fabulous day!
The sun was shining! Work went smooth! It was all in all a nice, easy day!
My parents are off to the coast for their "honeymoon trip". 30 years of marriage, they do deserve a honeymoon!!
Todd and I are gearing up for Disney!!! All I have left to do is grocery shop for stuff to take and buy myself a few pair of shorts! Other than that we are ready!
I will probably start packing the girls next weekend. I don't just "pack" I am a very detailed packer. I use large ziploc bags to pack fore each day. I put both girls outfits for "Monday: Magic Kingdom" in a labeled zippy..I do this for each day then I also put the extra outfits for the day in a zippy. That way when I am packing a diaper bag for the day all I have to do is grab the labeled zippy throw in some diapers and go!
18 days! Zippity DO Da!

Today is the Day!!
Today is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad it is!!!
I am so filled with happiness right now it is unbelievable!!
Yesterday, my parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary!! 30 years!! They were so adorable. They spent the day together, then my dad took my mom to buy a new car! She got a 2009 Nissan Altima. Then we all went out to eat! They are leaving tomorrow for a mini-vaca to the coast so they are just oozing with love!
Besides being so happy for them, today marks 19 days til DISNEY!!! 19 days!! WHOOP WHOOP!! We are official in the teens!!! This makes me soooo excited you have no idea!!!
that means this time next week we will only have 12 days!! then in 2 weeks we will be down to 5 days!!!!!
I have been planning this for so long (130+ days out) that I fill like I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!!
I have created the packing list for both of the girls! Now I am working on Todd's list and My list.
I have the shopping list of food/other things I need to buy ready to be bought and the other day I finally found Madyson a Belle dress to wear!
Now she has a Cinderella dress but she really wanted to be belle (bc of her brown hair) but belle costumes are so hard to find and when you do they are extremely over priced. So I watched a few on Ebay and found it & won it!!
I hope everyone has a blessed day! Keep your eyes focused on the Lord! Because this is the day!

sick, weddings, and work oh my!!!
So over the past few days I have been breaking from blogging. My life really isn't interesting enough for everyday updates!
Disney is fast approaching!! Next week we will be in our TEEN days!!!
I woke up Thursday morning feeling AWFUL! I couldn't breathe through my nose, I had a terrible cough, fever, aches...so I called in!! (shocking! You know I don't feel good if I call in)
When Madyson woke up, her eyes were glued shut with green junk, her face was all swollen, she had a runny nose...we were both pitiful.
So we stayed home Thursday and stayed dosed up on allergy/cough medicine and "ice pops"
I went to bed Thursday night still feeling terrible.
I woke up this morning and could hardly function. I was so sleepy from all the medicine I took before bed and just plan nasty feeling.
SO... I threw on some clothes and drove myself to work...got all of my daily duties done then went home and got back into bed.
Around 4:30 (thanks to my wonderful aunt who picked up my girls) I began to function again. Still horse, feeling better but not wonderful, I got dressed and made my way to Provine Church to coordinate Stacey Gaines wedding.
Let me tell you about sweet Stacey Gaines! Stacey was a student teacher at CHS in 03, that is where I first heard about her. When I got to MC she was one of my mom's precious "friends". Stacey is the most talented, smartest, beautiful Christians that I know.
Stacey called me a few months ago and asked if I could serve as her wedding coordinator. I agreed and tonight was a smooth process.
I have been doing weddings for a while and the more and more I do, the more I start to believe that rehearsal are slowly fading away. People know automatically what to do (except mothers/motherinlaws/grandmas...they are the ones who need to rehearse) Anyway, Stacey's wedding is going to be fabulous and sweet. I just have to be up and ready EARLY in the morning!!!
So with that said, I am asking everyone for prayer over the next few weeks. I have discovered something that I truly feel was created for me. I absolutely got so excited when I learned about this that I wanted to cry. The problem is, becoming a part of it isn't up to me, its up to others.
I am praying that if God wants me apart of it, It will be. Todd and I truly need it. So please remember us in your prayers.

26 days until our family vacation!!
We are officially under the 30 day mark!!! We leave for our first real family vacation in twenty-six days!! Our kids have been blessed with many weekend trips to places such as the beach, new Orleans, zoo hopping in Alabama and in Memphis but they have not been on a real vacation.
7whole days for us to be a family! No work, No computers, No phones (Todd and I will not be excepting phone calls after the 6th...we will allow birthday wish phone calls!!) My vacation begins on the 3rd of July. Our office will be closed and daycare will be closed. So this day will serve as "washing & packing day". Then on the 4th of July, Todd will be snoozing away as the girls and I enjoy hot dogs, cupcakes, and fireworks! After the annual fireworks show, we will go home and load the car! Todd will be home around 11pm that night and then we are off for our evening journey to the happiest place on earth!!
Our plan is to split the driving/sleeping time. We will arrive at our hotel between noon and 1 on the 5th of July, check in and head to the pool for a few hours! We are planning on spending that evening in Downtown Disney looking at Lego's (for Gauge!) and the Bibbity Boppity Boutique!
The worst part about being an event planner is it is hard to separate your personal life from your work life! I have been researching this trip and things to do for months, and with the help of my faithful Disney Moms, I believe we are ready!!
I don't want to give away too much but for Madyson's birthday (okay and my birthday) on the 6th we will be having Breakfast at Chef Mickey's! Okay...that's it!! No more surprises!!
I am so excited I can not contain myself! Madyson and I do our daily Disney Gig as we take down another link off of our Disney Chain! We have been busy watching peoples Disney vacations on YouTube and catching up on all of our Disney Movies!! This past weekend we watched Toy Story and Mary Poppins (MY FAVORITE!!)
It is very important to me that Madyson has an idea of who each of the characters are! Aubrie Kate just gets excited every time we get excited so I know she will do fine!
Other than that faithful Broadus Blog followers, get ready!! The next 26 days are going to be annoying for you but great for us!!

Not in the mood....
No, this entry isn't what you are thinking.
For some reason I am not feeling my surroundings right now.
I am overwhelmed with the world. I hate getting paid now because it just turns into a cat fight between hospitals/doctors/and car people on who is going to get paid.
I am seriously thinking about selling the car, walking everywhere...eating only things I can grow in my yard and getting rid of my cell phone ( i never answer it anyway!!) that would save a good 1,000 a month right there!!
I worked 60 hours this past week, so I am taking tomorrow off to spend the day with Madyson getting her room "pretty".
Hopefully tomorrow I will be back on track, and feeling more "in the mood"

Free Root Beer Float Day
Tonight's blog is a celebration of Sonic's Free Root Beer Float Night!
Todd, Madyson & I participated in this wonderful event! The staff at Sonic was so well prepared for the overflow of people loving something "FREE" that we did not have to wait in a long line.
What a great way to end your day!
The Broadus Family salutes you Sonic!! Thank you for a yummy treat!

Lets Go Walking!!!
I love to drive, most of the time. But when I do, I have a problem going 1 speed, obeying traffic lights, 1 way streets are not for me either! That is why when I am in downtown Jackson, I opt to park and walk places.
So today, I picked a nice side street parking spot under a shady tree, hopped out of the mountaineer and took off. The problem with "taking off" so fast is that I forgot I did not know the address of the building I was going to. So I had to find some nice people. *Mission 1*
I headed down a few blocks, with a good feeling of the direction I was going when I passed my first group of young professionals. I greeted them with a smile and asked if they could tell me the direction to the building I was going. The two girls laughed and said they couldn't find their way to their location (figures...when you set off in 4in heels...it has to do something to the blood flow to your brain) and the guys said they weren't sure and didn't want to lead me in the wrong direction. SO...I kept going and stumbled upon a single gentleman in an orange shirt.
I asked him if he could tell me where I was going, he said "um.. I think it is this way" and began to walk me in the opposite direction. We walked a good 6 blocks when he finally said okay...continue up the walk way and it is either that grey building or that grey building. (there were 4 grey buildings on the street) so I used my process of elimination and remembered that I was going to the *19th* floor. So.. 2 building were short (elimate those) and 2 buildings were tall. I figured I had a 50% chance to get it right so I headed towards the taller of the two. *MISSION 2*
Sure enough, I found the right location.
Well...once I was inside the building I had to go through the metal detector (that took a while)
Then I had to sign-in, have a conversation with the guard about my last name (Still working on getting Todd to be Todd Scott so I can quit all the confusion with BROADUS..it is BROAD-US just like it is spelled NOT BRO-DUS...BROAD-US. There is an A in there!!) got a visitors pass and headed up the elevator to the 19th floor.
As I was standing in the elevator I noticed a camera. I have watched too many CSI episodes where the surveillance of the elevator video camera was used to solve a crime so I made sure to get a full face shot, just in case I disappeared.
Finally, the 19th floor. I stepped off the elevator and looked around there was a bolted mirror door to my right and a funky looking door with no handle to my left. I pulled the old "peeping tom" and saw that there is an office behind the door to my left. So I pulled really hard on this silver bar thingy and nothing. So I tried pushing really hard, nothing. Finally after a few laughs the lady behind the desk unlocked the door with her "under the desk button" and motioned for me to push again.
WHEW. I'm in.
I picked up the "Secret Package" and headed back down the elevator. *Mission 3 is to get it safely to my car* 19, 18, 17, 16 (doors open two gentlemen get in)15, 14 (doors open 1 lady and 5 gentlemen get in) 13, 12, 11, 10 (doors open 1 lady gets in) By this time I am stuck in the back corner of this very crowded elevator, with the surveillance camera blocked. 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 (..almost there) 3, 2 (doors open 2 guys get on...seriously TAKE THE STAIRS IT IS 1 FLOOR!)
1st floor...whew!!!
I made it down, dropped off my badge and headed for the door. As I began my walk back to my car, clinching the secret package tightly, I began to suspect every person that walked passed me. Here I am, this little "girl" walking down the street, by myself with a secret package that could contain something very important.
All the sudden, everyone wanted the package. My hands gripped the package tighter and my walk went from casual to a"power" walk. Finally, I saw my car up ahead. I took off for the door, pressed my automatic unlock button..and jumped in!
Mission ACCOMPLISHED!!!
Once I was safe in the car I used my GPS system to take me back to work. :)

Big Girl!
It is so hard to believe in 35 days my baby will be 3 years old. I remember the day Madyson was born (in detail!).
It was the early morning of my 22nd birthday, I had been on bed rest for over 10 weeks, I had gained over 100 pounds and I was ready to have the baby, just not on my birthday.
I woke up around 3am to use the restroom, and found myself not feeling well, but I laid back down. Reese, my chipompoo kept "rooting" under me, staring at me in the face, licking my nose. I got up, so he would leave me alone. I was sitting on the couch and began feeling dizzy. I knew something wasn't right. I called the hospital and they said if I wanted to come in, I had to go to Women's not the Baby Suites. I decided to hang out until 8 then show up at the doctor's office. For 5 hours I felt like crap. Todd was excited...if the baby came that meant he would be a dad...you could tell it wasn't his birthday.
At 8 I arrived at Dr. Meck's office. Went through the whole pre-exam line up, then finally saw the doctor. I was dilated some...but I had really high blood pressure. Next thing you know, we are sent upstairs to have a baby.
A BABY! I was turning 22 years old in a few hours and I am fixing to be a mom?!?! Someone should have explained this whole thing better to me. Labor sucked. That is the only way to describe it. It was painful and miserable and all those women who say "its not too bad" apparently did not experience it. I did for hours with out DRUGS...thought I was going to be cool but finally right at the last minute I got the epidural and Madyson got the hiccups. All that pushing and she had to be shoved back in and off the operating room for an emergency c-section.
Now an emergency c-section is a scary deal. People are rushing around, sheets are flying up, you can hear metal things touching and people whispering but you have no clue what is going on.
All of the sudden I asked Todd, who was fearfully sitting next to me, what was I smelling. He peaked around the sheet and informed me that smell was my skin getting cauterized.
The next thing I know I am feeling tons of jerking and pounding then a loud "yahhh" from the nurses and this pitiful cry. "ITS A GIRL"...someone shouted. Todd ran over to see this thing that just emerged from my insides, and I looked at the anesthesiologist sitting next to me and asked her for something really strong.
Todd brought Madyson over to me. There she was this dark brown, black headed bundle of "who's baby is that?".
See I am medium skin with light brown/blond hair. Todd is medium skin with dark brown hair. This child had very dark skin, dark eyes and an "afro" of black hair.
The doctor assured me that she came from my belly so I was taking it that she had to be my kid.
Todd left to go show off this creature and I drifted off into epidural world, where everything is funny and the pain of staples going into your belly "tickles".
Madyson was a preemie and had to stay under observation for a few hours (5 to be exact) around 10:30 p.m. My baby finally came to me. She was perfect. Perfect lips, perfect skin, great hair, and sweet. I was in love, bottom line.
Now I sit and look at this precious child and thank God everyday for her (even if she did take my birthday, my birth weight/size, and almost my birth time!!)
Madyson is fixing to turn 3, she is so intelligent, sweet, and all around a perfect child.
She loves school, loves her family, (loves her tv) and knows that "Jesus loves her".
She is a fabulous big sister and an amazing daughter.
Today she received her first invitation to a (girl)friend at school's birthday party! My baby is growing up, building her "social life" and soon will be entering kindergarten (2 years, ill be crying!!)
