*THIS POST WAS WRITTEN IN 2010 and remains THE most popular post on our site. Brian is now in a relationship and is very happy.*
Friendship is like a prism through which the many variations of beauty are revealed in our lives.
This week on Kelly's Korner "Show Us Your Life" we are suppose to display our "Single Guys". Now I am sure that most women are going to do their sons, nephews, cousins, brothers...but I have chosen to present you with my idea of the perfect guy (next to Todd of course), my life long friend, Brian.
This is Brian.
Brian and I have been friends almost our entire lives. He lived down the street from me, we were in class together, we had the same group of friends, we both played soccer (well he excelled I was just there) and we have always just been close. I consider him one of my greatest and most "bestest" friends ever.
Brian graduated high school the same year I did (2002) with so many honors, it would need its own post.
He played soccer and baseball and was in numerous organizations.
After high school he went to college at the University of Southern Mississippi.
(our plan was to go together and be roommates, our parents were cool with this because we are just like brother/sister but I was too busy chasing boys to fulfill our plan, so he went alone)
There he majored in Business Administration.
He was also a member of the SAE fraternity ...not just a member, president.
After his years of being a Golden Eagle, he came back to Jackson to attend
Mississippi College School of Law.
Funny thing is, I worked there at the time! So he became one of my student workers! I got to keep a good eye on him this way!
He graduated from Law School and now has a big boy job! He lives in a prime area and spends his time doing numerous things such as raising money for Magnolia Speech School (local school for deaf children), serving ice cream and hanging out with the kids of Boys & Girls Club, hanging out with his friends, playing/watching sports, spending time with family, and traveling.
Speaking of family. His is GREAT! You know how you always want a good set of In-Laws? Well, Mrs. Charlotte and Mr. Randy are amazing parents. They are fun, they are grounded, and most importantly they are supportive. Also in this package is big sister Lauren, her husband and precious baby girl (who by the way, Brian ADORES)
Swooning yet? Todd says he appreciates my childhood best friend because he is probably the only other male in my entire life that has put up with so much from me but still wants to be my friend. =)
I wanted to make sure Brian knew I was posting him on SUYL so I asked him a few questions for all you single ladies.....
Things he looks for in a girl
Sense of humor, family oriented, enjoys working out and athletics, and ambitious
Three words he uses to describe himself:
1) Driven
2) Social
3)Loyal
He feels that his biggest accomplishment so far in life is all the great relationships he has formed with people. B is a great friend and this is shown by how everyone loves him.
And finally I asked him the most important question:
"Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" his response...
"Married with a family of my own and doing something I love for a job."
Brian is that kind of guy that you meet and are instantly taken away by. He is good-looking (don't tell him I told you), He has a to-die for personality, and He has such a great heart.

Why do you have to be far away? Actually, I think the age difference is a big gap too :(

ReplyDeleteHi . . . I am the mother of a wonderful, never-been-married, single Christian young woman. She is a down-to-earth doll, 23 years old and a second year law student in Virginia. (She was offered a scholarship at Mississippi College School of Law!!) She, too, graduated from high school with every award imaginable, graduated summa (perfect 4.0) from undergrad with a BS in Government and a concentration in French (she speaks, reads and writes French well), studied in France during the summer and aced her first semester of law school. She currently is ranked #1 in her law class and serves on Law Review.
ReplyDeleteShe is a conservative and choosey about who she dates. She prefers lawyers, because she loves to talk shop. She loves to laugh and smiles almost all the time. She is independent, but very close to her family. She comes from a normal home with three younger siblings. She is pretty, sweet and gentle, but strong in character, works hard and enjoys relaxing when it is time for that. She reads constantly and enjoys reading books in French. Historical fiction is her favorite when she is not reading law related books. She is a definite champion of the underdog. She is a solid Christian and lives what she believes. She is looking for a young man with strong Christian principles as well.
To meet Kathleen, you would think she was a sweet southern belle, polite and pleasant to talk to. You would never take her for the geek she really is inside.
Can you tell she is someone special? She definitely is. I wrote you because the single man you mentioned is a lawyer from Mississippi. Kathleen's home town is in northern Mississippi.
One more thing . . . She does not know I am replying to anyone's post on her behalf. She would be six shades of embarrassed if she knew. What would be ideal for Kathleen would be an intelligent, gentle man, also strong in character, who loved God and loved serving his fellow man. That kind of guy would be a perfect match for her.
Thanks!
Melanie Keffer
P. S. An interesting tidbit about Kathleen is she was also a candidate for the Naval Academy, and carries a French Bible to church. She loves the region of Normandie, France and wants to buy a little cottage there someday as a summer home. She walked miles on the beaches there each night. She loves to jog as well. She likes staying in good physical shape. She says physical exercise is a stress buster.
What Kathleen does not want is someone who thinks a lot of himself or is a snob in any way. Like I said, you would never know she was anything but a sweet southern girl . . . She is definitely not a snob.
I apologize for writing such a long post but you can't describe special people in a couple of sentences.

I read your info on Kelly’s Korner and immediately thought of my friend, KELLIE. I would love to put the Brian and Kellie in touch for a few reasons.
ReplyDelete1.She’s single and ready to mingle. Seems like Brian is too.
2. If he's looking for a friend, and maybe more, she’s a great friend to have. So, why not be open to making a new friend, right?
3. She’s so much fun, is loyal, kind, and loves Jesus. What more do you need?
Kellie's email is Kelcon616@gmail.com. Come on, shoot her an email. He's got everything to gain and nothing to lose! Good luck!
Is he still single?
